KingMemo User Guide

Learn the main features of KingMemo and how to use them.

Install & LaunchRun the installer and it sets itself up automatically. Once launched, the KingMemo icon appears in the system tray.
New NoteCreate a new note from the tray icon menu or the + button in the list window.
Note WindowsNotes are frameless sticky windows — drag to move them anywhere and pull the edges to resize.
Tray ResidentKingMemo keeps running in the tray even with all windows closed. Alarms keep working too.

Text FormattingApply bold/italic/underline/strikethrough from the toolbar, and pick fonts and text sizes (7 levels).
ColorsEmphasize content with text and highlight colors, and switch the note background among 8 preset colors or any custom color.
Checkboxes & BulletsCreate checkboxes and click them to mark items done, or organize lists with bullets.
ImagesInsert images into the note body and resize by dragging (aspect-ratio lock supported). The right-click menu offers 25%/50%/100%/fit-width and view-original.

List WindowManage every note in one window. Double-click an entry to open its note window.
GroupsCreate groups (folders) to organize notes by topic.
SearchType in the search box to instantly find partial matches across titles and content.
Sorting & TilingSort by title/content/modified date (primary + secondary), and tile open note windows on screen in sorted order.

Setting AlarmsSet an alarm with a specific date and time on any note.
RepeatChoose the repeat cycle: once, daily or weekly.
Notification BehaviorWhen an alarm fires, a desktop push notification appears and the note pops up with a pulsing border highlight.

LanguageThe UI supports Korean, English, Japanese and Chinese (Simplified/Traditional).
Auto StartKingMemo can launch automatically when Windows starts.
Default Background ColorChoose the default background color for new notes.
TrashDeleted notes move to the trash and are removed automatically after the configured period (30 days by default).
